In our coffee shop and in the roastery, we're always looking for innovative ways to reuse materials and reduce waste, so we can care for the natural world around us.
What happens to all our coffee snacks?
Ever wondered what we do with all the coffee sacks that bring our delicious beans to us? To make sure they're reused, we send them to a nearby tree nursery. There, the sacks are wrapped around the roots of young trees to support their growth and help them take root, ultimately proving our planet with more of the glorious oxygen it deserves.
At our roastery, helping to save our environment is a real TREE-t!
Keeping Recycling Bucket-Loads of Fun!
As you can probably imagine, we end up with a lot of leftover coffee… bucket-loads, in fact! We collect all our used coffee grounds, which then go on to live a second life in all sorts of wonderful ways.
Some are used for compost, others find their way to an Amsterdam-based liqueur company – but one thing is certain: we make sure our coffee is reused. That’s important to us, because our beans travel a long way to get here.
Oh, and our baristas love to take some of the leftover coffee grounds home. They swear it makes the best exfoliating face mask!
